About

Hello, I am Haruo Kamioka !

I am Brazilian, currently living in Passau (Germany) as a visiting researcher in the University of Passau.

I have been working with IT security and risk management since 2007. Therefore, in the end of 2014 I changed my career focus to Machine Learning and Data Science. I believe this is a powerful tool and skill to acquire as an asset for my career and I am very happy extracting insights from data instead of only protect them.

In the Data Science field, I am working as a visiting researcher in the area of NLP and Semantic Computing. One of my research achievements will be published this year at Stockholm [1]. Before that, I started learning Data Science by myself through MOOCs, Kaggle competitions [2] and books [3],[4].

I will use this blog to publish ideas, thoughts, tips, information, code and what else is there!

Fields I concern about are:

  • Data Science
  • Machine Learning
  • Information Theory
  • Statistical Learning
  • Information Security
  • Signal Processing
  • Try Harder culture (A.K.A hardworking)
  • Human Development

Yours sincerely,

Haruo
